D&J's Cafe in downtown Taylor offers a full menu of lunch and dinner items. Corner Stop Convenience store just south of Taylor offers gas, drinks, and snacks. The Valleyview General Store on Hwy 96 on the north side of the Calamus Reservoir also offers drinks, snacks, and ice.

Where is the Calamus Reservoir?
The Calamus Lake and Recreation area is located off of State Hwy 96. From Taylor follow U.S. Hwy 183 11 miles north, then turn East onto Hwy 96 for approx. 4 miles.

Taylor Assembly of God 203 Murry Street (One block E. of Hwy 183 on the North side of town)
Sunday services at 10:45 with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Visitors are welcome. The Assembly of God Church also provides a variety of youth programs. For alternate/midweek service times and more info call Pastor Michael Sullivan at 308-942-6172 or the church at 308-942-6082.
Calvary United Methodist Church 409 Williams Street (Two blocks West of Hwy 183, mid-town)
Sunday services start at 9:30 a.m. with Sunday School following at 10:30 a.m. Visitors welcome. For alternate/midweek service times and more info call Rev. Dennis Davenport at 308-346-4318 or try the church at 308-942-6205.
Loup County Public School
Loup County Public School was formed in 1971 and is part of ESU 10 district. This K-12 school is the proud home of the Wildcats and prides itself on providing all students the necessary learning opportunities to succeed in a changing world. In 2011 the school will co-op sports, as well as band and choir, with the neighboring town of Sargent to form the Twin Loup Wolves. Organizations and extra-curricular activites offered at LCPS include football, volleyball, basketball, track & field, choir, band, FFA, speech, Student Council, National Honor Society and FCA. www.loupcounty.k12.ne.us/
Public Facilities
The V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post was established in 1946. Today the Post has a nice building located on the northwest corner of the square in Taylor. This building is open to use by other organizations and is a popular spot to hold parties and family get togethers. For more info call Joyce at 308-942-3498.
The Taylor Community Center was added to the west side of the Taylor square in 1988. This centrally located building is great for a variety of functions including meetings, parties, reunions, and more. A small kitchen is also available. For more info and reservations call Judy 308-942-3493.
The Loup County Fair Building is located on the north side of the square. Although it's mainly used during the Loup County Fair, its large size and extensive kitchen is useful for a variety of larger events including reunions, pancake feeds, dances, and displays. The NEW rodeo grounds are located just north of Taylor on Hwy 183. For more info contact Linda Yantzie at 308-942-6223.
Public Services
Post Office
The Taylor Post Office is located at the corner of Hwy 183 and Murry Street on the northeast side of the square and offers complete U.S. Mail Services. For more info contact Postmaster Craig VanDiest at 308-942-6090.
Court House
The Loup County Court House is located on the West side of the square and is home to county services including county clerk, judge, sheriff, treasurer, and weed superintendent. Taylor Public Library
The Taylor Library is now enjoying its new, bigger location (the old Evangelical Free Church). While the library is still holding the same hours (1-5 on Mondays and Fridays) and continuing the children’s programs the new location offers readers many new books thanks to numerous book donations. The larger location allows patrons plenty of elbow room to utilize the internet, research the Taylor Clarion on micro-film (dating back to 1893), visit with friends or just relax with a good read! The lower level of the library sports a large kitchen and meeting room perfect for family events and special occasions and is available for rent. The entire building is handicap accessible. Emergency Services
Taylor is home to Region 26 which is the 911 communications center for Loup and several surrounding counties. This dispatch center is critical to central Nebraska's emergency and safety programs. Loup County is proud of its excellent volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad complete with village and rural fire fighting units as well as an ambulance unit and several capable EMT's scattered throughout the country. For emergencies call 911.
Loup County Volunteer Fire Department
In 2010, the Loup County Volunteer Fire Department built a new multi-stall building in Taylor. The new building not only houses fire rigs and equipment but also provides much needed room for meetings and volunteer training. The fire department is one of the most active groups in the community and responds to emergencies in Taylor and rural Loup County. They also provide mutual aid to surrounding counties when needed.

Taylor Jr. Rodeo
The Taylor Jr. Rodeo is sporting a new arena at a new location (approx. 1 mile north of Taylor on Hwy 183). The chutes and roping boxes from the previous rodeo grounds were moved to the new site while the rest of the facility is brand new. The Taylor Jr. Rodeo board plans on adding to this fine new facility on a yearly basis. Come to see one of the state's best Jr. Rodeo's the 2nd Saturday in August!!
