Public Facilities

The V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post was established in 1946. Today the Post has a nice building located on the northwest corner of the square in Taylor. This building is open to use by other organizations and is a popular spot to hold parties and family get togethers. For more info call Joyce at 308-942-3498.

The Taylor Community Center was added to the west side of the Taylor square in 1988. This centrally located building is great for a variety of functions including meetings, parties, reunions, and more. A small kitchen is also available. For more info and reservations call Judy 308-942-3493.

The Loup County Fair Building is located on the north side of the square. Although it's mainly used during the Loup County Fair, its large size and extensive kitchen is useful for a variety of larger events including reunions, pancake feeds, dances, and displays. Churches

Taylor Assembly of God 203 Murry Street (One block E. of Hwy 183 on the North side of town)

Sunday services at 10:45 with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Visitors are welcome. The Assembly of God Church also provides a variety of youth programs. For alternate/midweek service times and more info call Pastor Michael Sullivan at 308-942-6172 or the church at 308-942-6082.

Evangelical Free Church 106 Williams Street (One block E. of Hwy 183 on the south side of town)

The E-Free Church meets for Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday Service at 11:00 a.m. Visitors are always welcome. For alternate/midweek service times and more info call Pastor Jerry White at 308-942-6196 or the church at 308-942-3117.

Calvary United Methodist Church 409 Williams Street (Two blocks West of Hwy 183, mid-town)

Post Office

The Taylor Post Office is located at the corner of Hwy 183 and Murry Street on the northeast side of the square and offers complete U.S. Mail Services. For more info contact Postmaster Craig VanDiest at 308-942-6090.

Court House

The Loup County Court House is located on the West side of the square and is home to county services including county clerk, judge, sheriff, treasurer, and weed superintendent. Taylor Public Library

The Taylor Public Library occupies the former Congregational Church on the corner of Third and Williams Street. This beautiful historic library is host to all genres of reading. For hours and more info call 308-942-6125.

Emergency Services

Taylor is home to Region 26 which is the 911 communications center for Loup and several surrounding counties. This dispatch center is critical to central Nebraska's emergency and safety programs. Loup County is proud of its excellent volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad complete with village and rural fire fighting units as well as an ambulance unit and several capable EMT's scattered throughout the country.
